Ruth and Sarah first met as housemates while studying in Maynooth, quickly discovering a shared passion for music that sparked a lasting friendship. Late-night jam sessions and college gigs laid the foundation for what would become The Cherry Blossoms—a vibrant musical duo known for their heartfelt harmonies and soulful performances. Over the past decade, they’ve brought their unique sound to weddings and special events across the country, creating unforgettable moments with every song.
Ruth is a passionate and experienced musician whose love for music began at a young age. A talented pianist, she achieved Grade 8 with the Royal Irish Academy of Music and went on to study music at Maynooth University. In 2012, she joined the all-female group The Honey Badgers, performing at numerous venues across the country. Ruth later teamed up with her close friend Sarah, starting with volunteer performances in nursing homes before quickly progressing to pub gigs and, ultimately, weddings. Known for her electic taste and love of exploring new musical styles, Ruth brings warmth, versatility, and a deep musicality to every performance.
Sarah has been singing since before she could walk, with music woven into the fabric of her life from the very beginning. Her talent flourished in school, where she regularly performed solos and sang in the choir, eventually taking centre stage in local musical society productions. During her secondary school years, she was part of both a girl band and a ballad group, honing her performance skills and love for collaboration. In her late twenties, Sarah joined the original band Supertide—teaming up with musicians from Leitrim, Longford, and Cavan to record an EP in 2014 and perform across Ireland. A creative at heart, she also enjoys spending her summers as a film extra, with a standout experience being her role in RTÉ’s Rebellion, commemorating the 1916 Rising. Now based in Dunshaughlin, Sarah continues to embrace the stage as a member of her local drama society, recently appearing in Comedy at the Arch and Bloomsday.

We had the absolute pleasure of having The Cherry Blossoms perform at our wedding ceremony, and they were nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment the first note played, their beautiful harmonies filled the church and created the most magical atmosphere we could have ever hoped for. Their voices blended perfectly, and the music was just gorgeous, they brought such sincerity to every piece they performed. It was one of the most memorable parts of the day. They were also an absolute dream to work with in the lead-up to the big day - professional, warm, and so helpful in helping us choose the right songs to reflect our style and what we wanted for our ceremony.
